*Coronavirus Update 3/20/2020:*
Dear Current/Potential Impact Team Volunteers,
I wanted to take a brief moment to talk about the conversation around every dinner table…the Coronavirus began taking the world by storm first via news outlets and social media and now seems to occupy most conversations. This is now our globally reality, as virtually every country in the world has or is in the process of closing their borders. This is no small deal and we have sought to respond in an appropriately and timely manner.
The Coronavirus has and will continue to have a significant effect on our ministry. We have taken the steps to postpone all Impact Teams scheduled from now through May 31, 2020. All volunteers on these teams, departing before May 31, should have received communication specific to them earlier this week. Impact Teams scheduled after May 31 will be evaluated as the situation unfolds.
Humankind has a real need, and it’s not to beat the Coronavirus (though we can all agree we’re looking forward to the day that is true). Humankind’s REAL need is Jesus. The REAL need is salvation. While we have been temporarily limited from traveling abroad to expand this effort, let’s not neglect coming alongside of those close by who have fears, pointing them to the true source of freedom from fear. As Paul reminded Timothy, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” (2 Tim 1:7)
Do not forget that while this element of our work had been reduced, around the globe children are still meeting in regular Story Clubs to hear and be transformed as their life story comes in contact with the story that God has been telling since the moment of creation.
Please join us in prayer. Prayer for these children. Pray for those that are and will be inflicted with this virus. Pray for those leading the way to combat the outbreak. Pray for those that are living in fear. Most importantly, pray that God will be glorified in all of these things.

Trip Overview
Haiti is no stranger to challenging times. Over the last 10 years, the people in this small country have suffered greatly as a result of earthquakes, hurricanes, and political unrest. Families, and especially the children, are struggling and looking for hope.
This May, we are excited to announce our first project with Rise Haiti. Our Impact Haiti team will build 2–3 playgrounds on their campus in Vignier. Throughout the week, the team will work to build up and encourage the Rise Haiti ministry staff, and seek to bring laughter & joy to kids who really need a place to play and “just be kids”. Most importantly, they will share God’s transforming hope!

RISE Haiti was born from Benite Jeune’s vision to help Haitians help themselves through access to education, jobs, food, and clean water. Benite was born and raised in Haiti. Educated in the U.S. and Canada, he brings his unique perspective and passionate resolve to bring positive social and economic change to his country. RISE Haiti is a group of dreamers who turn hope into hard work. His passion was tested in 2019 with massive economic setbacks.
Their mission is to do for one what they dream about doing for everyone. RISE Haiti has been making a difference in Haiti since 1997 through enduring partnerships with incredible individuals, churches, schools, businesses, and organizations around the world.
The Vignier campus includes an orphanage, a primary and secondary school, plus a beautiful church where the ministry serves over 1,000 children and local families.
Meet the Team Leaders
Bruce & Julie Rearick have served with Kids Around the World since 2012 in the Replay program. They have installed 43 playgrounds in eight different countries with most of them being in Haiti. Their passion to see God transform the hearts of Haitian children is the purpose of KIDS’ Impact Teams. “Through our teams, we see how God brings together uniquely blessed volunteers with different abilities where we all serve together while serving others. May God receive the glory as we serve Haiti with a sincere love and passion to encourage our local partners.” Bruce and Julie are “retired” and live in Pennsylvania. They have five children and three grandchildren. They also refurbish and ship playgrounds from the East Coast Kids Around the World warehouse.
