“This Word Was For Me!”

Serving as a regional KIDStory leader in Eastern Europe, I often lead training for leaders who want to bring KIDStory into their communities. It was during one of these sessions that I experienced a powerful “ah-ha” moment—a true PAYDAY—when God allowed us to see the real impact of what we’re doing.
It was one of the most powerful and touching moments and it happened right in the middle of a KIDStory training workshop. As the Word of God was being shared, one of the worship leaders suddenly stood up. His face was overwhelmed with emotion, tears falling as he could no longer remain seated.

With a trembling voice, he said, “I can’t stay silent anymore. While I was listening to the message, something started burning inside me. It felt like God was shining a light into my heart. This word was for me.”
He then shared deeply from his heart. His young teenager, caught in destructive habits, was drifting from the right path. Through tears, he admitted he had never stopped to ask how his child was doing, how they were feeling or what they were going through. “I just assumed everything was fine… and now I realize – I failed as a father.”

But as the message took hold, something shifted. “I don’t want to stay the same. God showed me that I have to change first. I can’t turn back, but I can change what comes next. From today on, I will do everything I can to be present for my kid. I will not let them walk alone anymore.”
Silence, tears, and a sense of hope filled the atmosphere. God was powerfully at work not only in that father’s heart, but in the hearts of everyone who heard his testimony. Witnessing his vulnerability was a powerful reminder that God’s Word is alive! It breaks chains, transforms hearts, and restores hope where it once seemed lost. No one prompted him to stand—God met him right where he was. In an instant, hearts were opened, and healing began.
What began as a training became something deeply personal. This was more than teaching; it was transformation. A true PAYDAY moment.
What stayed with me most was not just his honesty, but his hope. He believed that change was possible, and that it was not too late to invest in what matters most. That belief is at the core of everything we do.
Through KIDStory, we are not simply delivering content, we are equipping leaders, strengthening families, and helping shape future generations.

Moments like these remind us that even one message, one training, can spark meaningful change and begin a ripple effect that reaches far beyond the room.

As a regional KIDStory leader, Misha serves with a deep passion for helping children experience God’s love in a real and personal way. Just as importantly, he cares for the people who serve those children—recognizing that their dedication may go unappreciated. Believing the kingdom of God truly belongs to children, he finds joy in playing even a small role in nurturing that truth. For him, this calling reflects the very heart of Jesus.
