FOOD

Partnerships are bringing impact through FOOD – for which we’re incredibly grateful.  From packing tables “here” to dinner tables “there” – our Table To Table video HERE shares how much we – and communities around the globe – value and appreciate all those who choose to Give Freely when they scoop & seal, pour & pack!

GIVING PRAISE FOR YOUR PACKING AND POURING!

We can’t help but stand in awe of the passion, generosity, and servant-hearted spirit of our partners across the country. From classrooms to churches, business offices to athletic arenas—this quarter saw thousands of volunteers show up in force to pack over 3.6 meals. That’s impact. That’s community. That’s love in motion!

APRIL saw activity from coast to coast…

  • In Southern California, our friends at Schiel Wealth Management packed over 28,000 meals—proof that business can be a force for good.
  • Greensview Elementary, in Ohio, brought 100 fifth graders who gave up classroom time to pack 18,250 meals. We see you, young world changers!
  • Everything’s big in Texas—including hearts! Cross Timbers Church in Argyle, in partnership with Family Legacy, gathered 550 individuals who said, “Let’s do this—together!” and packed 100,000 meals.
  • Not to be outdone, Northwest Bible Church in Dallas (also with Family Legacy) stepped in with 375 generous volunteers to say, “Us too!”– packing 100,000 meals.
  • And in stunning spirit, our longtime friend and partner Teri Harmon gathered friends and family in sunny California where hundreds of hearts packed over 145,000 meals.

MAY continued the momentum and milestones …

  • Our longtime friends at M5M in Texas packed 43,000 meals, sharing steady commitment and compassion.
  • Calvary Chapel Chester Springs sealed up an incredible 270,000+ meals—marking yet another full container! With over 2.7 million meals packed to date, they’re well on their way to crossing 3 million next year. What a legacy!
  • With 400 volunteers strong, Su Refugio packed 100,000 meals. Since 2016, they’ve packed 909,000—the 1 million mark just around the corner. We’re cheering you on!
  • In South Carolina, NCCAA brought together 120+ coaches and leaders from Christian colleges across the U.S. to box up over 40,000 meals—showing student-athletes what strength and compassion looks like in action.
  • Terra Nova Church in California showed up to pack over 100,000 meals with the help of their rockstar volunteers who stepped in to set up, serve, and clean up.

JUNE highlighted many partners giving freely…

  • In Texas, Grace Presbyterian Church, together with Family Legacy, brought together 150 dedicated volunteers for over 61,000 meals. Their hands + hearts = impact.
  • Faithful friends at Children of the Nations in Washington, packed 25,000 meals. Their ongoing compassion continues to bless lives.
  • In California, partners at Harbor Point Church showed up with purpose—packing 100,000 meals with relentless generosity.

We wish we could list them all… as we’re overflowing with gratitude for every group that chose to Give Freely this season.

STEPPING UP TO THE PLATE

As the 2025 baseball season got underway, we stepped up to the plate with the start of an exciting new partnership as Kershaw’s Challenge beneficiary.

Founded by Los Angeles Dodgers All-Star and World Series Champion Clayton Kershaw and his wife, Ellen, Kershaw’s Challenge is dedicated to serving vulnerable and at-risk children in Los Angeles, Dallas, Zambia, and the Dominican Republic. Their mission is to partner with organizations that share their heart for impact—supporting projects that directly improve the lives of children.

We are honored to be selected as one of their 2025 beneficiaries. Through this partnership, Kershaw’s Challenge will support our food program by providing 250,000 nutritious meals to children in the Dominican Republic. This generous contribution will make a significant and immediate difference—helping us reach more children, support more communities, and continue delivering hope where it’s needed most.

FROM SCHOOL TO SERVING

Student leaders of Illinois’ 60010 Feeds Kids gathered 200 students from Barrington High School and Station Middle School to pack 95,000+ meals. These young changemakers not only raised the funds, they organized a large-scale event that will impact children in over 20 countries. Their leadership reminds us that age is no barrier to making a difference — representing the next generation of global problem-solvers.

PASSION MEETS POWERFUL PURPOSE

In Atlanta, our incredibly impactful partner, Passion City Church, brought their mission to life—“For God. For people. For the city. For the world.” With 365 passionate volunteers, they packed 100,000 meals, showing what it looks like when a church community commits to loving its neighbors—near and far—together under one powerful purpose!

A MILLION REASONS WHY THE CHURCH SHOWS UP

Catholic Charities and the Diocese of San Diego in southern California made a massive impact in their third year hosting a meal packing event with our FOOD Program. In an unforgettable display of generosity, volunteers came out in full force to pack a staggering 1 MILLION meals. Hundreds of pallets are now bound for children in need around the world, marking an event of truly incredible size and scale.

(Catch the reel HERE—you’ll be “reely” inspired!)

HIGH ALTITUDE AND HIGH ASPIRATIONS

Colorado’s Red Rocks Church showed up strong in June—packing 50,000 meals with 200 hearts clear on their stated mission: to make Jesus known… and to love others through service. Their passion was on full display as they helped nourish children and fuel futures with hope. And the best part? They’re already planning to “run it back next year!” Big high-fives for servant hearts and generous spirits.

WARMTH AND WELCOME IN THE DR

It was warm weather and a warm welcome when the GO! Trip team of 23 arrived in La Romana, Dominican Republic at the start of June. Greeted with big smiles and even bigger hugs from local school children, the welcome was unforgettable as nearly 900 students cheered the team’s arrival each day, watching with excitement as a massive playground began to take shape. With 7 teens on the team, energy was high—games were played, friendships were formed, and laughter filled the schoolyard… language barriers and all.

A special thanks to the local mayor, who generously provided a crane to raise the large canopy over the main platform—an incredible support to this big build. Beyond the playground, the team also visited Haitian refugee communities in nearby sugarcane field bateys. Though the conditions were difficult, hope was shared through FOOD, PLAY and STORY as our local team continues building trusted relationships. We’re grateful to see God opening doors and bringing light into the hardest places.

A NEW CHAPTER OF PLAY BEGINS IN PANAMA!

A team of 11—including members from churches and an NGO—traveled to Panama for a milestone moment: the first playground build in our Tataré Hope Zone community. The team worked alongside local pastors and families, who had already poured concrete borders and prepared the site in advance.

The playground was built at a location that now hosts both a church and a school, quickly becoming a central gathering place in the village. Local pastors shared that it’s been the children’s interest in STORY and PLAY that’s now drawing their parents to church as well. Each team member received a gift of appreciation, a meaningful reflection of growing relationship and shared purpose.

This playground is just the beginning!

SPIT WADS TO PLAYGROUNDS — A STORY YOU HAVE TO “Belize”!

The Vine Church team of Seattle recently traveled with us to Belize to install a playground at the Dorothy Menzies Children’s Home. One of the church leaders on their team shared how his journey of faith began in the unlikeliest way — bribed to attend church as a kid in Tennessee, a misfired spit wad eventually landed him in the front pew, where he awakened to the Gospel.

Years later, a cruise stop in Belize opened his eyes to the needs of vulnerable children living in poverty. That moment stirred a deep calling, and for the past 13 years, he and his wife have returned regularly to share FOOD, clothing, God’s love, and now, the joy of PLAY at the home’s expanded campus.  We’re celebrating in gratitude for how God works to move hearts towards partnering together for impact and transformation.

Please join us in praying for the 50 children preparing to move into this new space — that they would know their worth and God’s great love for them!

ONE WEEK WITH DOUBLED IMPACT

Thanks to the generous support of our partners at Rolling Hills Church, two long-awaited playgrounds were built within one week in communities across the Philippines that had been eagerly anticipating their arrival.

On dedication day, children and families from three local StoryClubs—Zalamea, CSAP, and Calasuche—came together to celebrate! It was a powerful time of connection as local leaders joined the team not only in building the playgrounds, but also in expanding the reach of Christ’s love through FOOD, PLAY, and STORY. Moments like these show the lasting impact of partnership and the strength of community-led leadership.

PLAY WAREHOUSE: WELDING WITH PURPOSE AND INSPIRATION

Sparks were flying at the KATW warehouse—literally! We recently had the joy of hosting a group of youth from Life Decisions who were interested in learning about welding and hands-on careers.

Our very own team member stepped up to share his personal journey into the trade, how his skills are used to help bring playgrounds back to life, and how purpose-driven work can make a global impact. Giving a live demo had everyone leaning in and asking questions!

We love opportunities like this—where passion meets purpose, and future changemakers get a glimpse of how they, too, can make a difference.

STORY

WE’RE CELEBRATING!

Children around the world are growing in their faith through KIDStory Clubs—where interactive storytelling helps bring God’s Word to life!

Our global trainers continue to equip others, with workshops taking place across the globe. We’re thrilled to share that over 1,100 KIDStory workshops have now trained more than 44,000 people.

That means millions of children and their families are being reached, encouraged, and discipled—just like these precious little ones!

KIDSTORY… AND THE BRAIN!

A recent KIDStory webinar with Dr. Rich Melheim drew 170+ leaders worldwide (40+ from Nigeria!) to learn about the brain and learning through the arts. Dr. Rich shared why “storying,” movement, humor, and hands-on activities unlock deeper learning and help God’s truth stick. Amazing to see a global hunger to teach kids through the power of STORY!

Attendees were asked, “What Stuck With You?”  Responses poured in:

  1. “Never teach anything new sitting in a chair.”
  2. “Incorporate movement, music, and storytelling into the lessons to engage multiple parts of the brain.”
  3. “Teach all of the senses: including humor.”
  4. “The one thing that stands out for me is the need for children to MOVE around during learning.”
  5. “I teach – they create – they teach. This utilizes the ⅓ concept.”
  6. “Storytelling creates emotions that help the children to retain lessons.”
  7. “Two most powerful moments: When you lie down and when you wake up!”
  8. “Make learning fun—engage all the senses! We are very musical in Jamaica, so we can do more with music.”

This webinar didn’t just teach—it inspired.  We can’t wait to see how these tools will continue transforming children’s lives across the globe.

MOMENTUM IN EAST AFRICA

This spring, KIDStory trainers from Uganda and Kenya gathered in Kampala to train, connect, and encourage leaders from villages, cities, and refugee camps. Two energetic workshops equipped new leaders, many deeply moved by Jesus blessing the children.

As part of a vision trip with Real Life Church, KATW also partnered with Pastors Discipleship Network (PDN), training regional leaders from across East Africa. The response was overwhelming: “I can’t wait to try this out Sunday!”

Just days later, churches used KIDStory for Easter, bringing the stories to life in creative ways and dramatizing it with props like banana fibers for whips and tree branches for a crown of thorns. Another church brought the resurrection story to life using handmade wooden crosses and tomato sauce to depict the crucifixion. The experience moved many—— leading some children to give their lives to Jesus.

Thank you for helping disciple children across East Africa in fresh, powerful ways!

FATHERS, BRACELETS, AND JESUS

In the Philippines, a group of enthusiastic Badjao fathers recently attended their second KIDStory Basic Workshop. Initially drawn by the impact they saw in their own children, these dads are now eager to reach even more kids.

One father shared how, as they travel to sell handmade charms and bracelets, they often share Bible stories with customers and encourage others in their community to do the same. Their passion is leading them to start 2–3 new StoryClubs, creating even more opportunities for children to hear about God’s love.

These stories are not isolated. KIDStory training workshops are happening all over the globe—from the Philippines to Tanzania, Burundi to the Democratic Republic of Congo. Partners like Sonshine Ministry, Mission Aviation Fellowship, CELPA (Communities of Free Pentecostal Churches in Africa), CET (Communities of Labor Churches), Real Life Ministries, and the Pastors Discipleship Network are just a few that recently joined us to equip leaders to disciple the next generation.

As these workshops multiply, so does the movement—ordinary people being empowered to reach children in their communities through STORY and relationship. Undeniable impact!

IN THE HEART OF KENYA’S URBAN SPACES

In the heart of Nairobi’s dense urban communities—Kibera and Korogocho—local ministry partners are using KIDStory to create safe, welcoming spaces where children experience the love of Jesus through STORY.

In Kibera, one of Africa’s largest slums, a local team is using this scripture-centered, Spirit-led, and joy-filled approach to disciple children in a setting where safe spaces are scarce. They have shared how KIDStory has enabled them to reach many children, including those with special needs, offering a place where every child is included, seen, and valued. It has also deeply shaped the leaders, helping them model Jesus’ humility by truly listening to the children and building relationships that reflect God’s love. As one local pastor shared, “There is no age limit in making disciples, and the impact in Kibera is a beautiful example of raising up the next generation with purpose and hope.”

Not far from Kibera, in Korogocho—one of Kenya’s most polluted slums with a population of around 150,000–200,000 and approximately 45,000 children—another team is reaching 10,000 kids each week through sports, using KIDStory as a discipleship tool. Here too, children are discovering a sense of belonging and hope as they learn about Jesus in environments where they are safe and loved.

Together, these two communities demonstrate the powerful impact of KIDStory in transforming young lives and equipping leaders to raise up the next generation in some of the most challenging urban contexts.

GLOBAL COMMUNITIES

We’re thrilled to celebrate ## new Hope Zones launched in 2025, ## in just second quarter alone—bringing the total to ### communities around the world where nourishing FOOD, joyful PLAY, and engaging STORY are transforming lives.

This growing impact is only possible because of generous supporters who choose to Give Freely and believe in something greater than themselves. COMPASSION AND CONNECTION IN ECUADOR

April in Ecuador marked an unforgettable time. Alongside an incredible team of volunteers—including reps from our Board and partners at Little Tikes Commercial—a powerful week of service, connection, and impact was experienced by all on a vision trip to the newly planted Hope Zone of La Sequita, where the church has grown from 18 to 150 people in only 2 months time!

Most meaningful were moments during home visits in the community. Here, it was learned that a family living just next to the playground site had suffered the tragic loss of their mother only a week before. Moved by compassion, the team rallied together to provide backpacks, toys, and Bibles for the grieving father and his four young children. One Bible was especially personal—filled with handwritten messages of encouragement from each volunteer.

The playground dedication was a celebration of out-loud joy—with over 150 children joining in! Seeing smiles, especially from the children walking through such deep sorrow, was a powerful reminder of the impact of serving others. We’re grateful for the opportunity to “Give HOPE Freely” where it’s deeply needed in our Hope Zone communities!
