Ethan discovered Kids Around the World after his family volunteered at a warehouse painting parties to help repaint the playground pieces. Ethan came in one day to ask if there were any opportunities for him that could count towards his Eagle Scout Project. He had to finish his project before he turned 18 in about a month. Ethan was designated a total playground and refurbishing project. After getting the project approved by his scout team he was left with a deadline of three weeks to complete it. Ethan traveled with the warehouse team to Indiana to learn how to take out a playground. Then he assembled his own team of volunteers to remove a playground in Oakbrook, Illinois. Following this he had his team volunteer in the warehouse to clean, paint, fix up, and itemize the playground they just removed. Ethan wrapped up the project in a whirlwind thanks to 25 volunteers making sure he succeeded.
