God’s faithfulness is beyond our understanding. His greatness is so apparent when our plans are tossed out the window. In total abandonment and submission to a torrential thunder and lightning storm, we found His plan come to be. We had planned on packing in the quaint little town square of Green City Missouri, population 652, under a small gazebo-like structure in the middle of large shade trees until the morning of the event brought two inches of rain in less than two hours following consistent lightning. The event was moved into the City Hall recreational room. Generally rain keeps people from attending an event, but in this case, even more, attended because the rain kept them from being able to work in their fields. Thanks to God, there were more volunteers than could have hoped for. There were so many volunteers all the meals were packed in one shift instead of two. After all the work was done the group sat down to have leisurely lunch together. They even got to enjoy it in the square since it turned out to be a beautiful day after the rain served its purpose.

This small town will make a big impact for the children in refugee camps in Uganda. Their team effort collectively packed 50,000 meals that will benefit a large number of families fleeing the war in South Sudan.
