Testimony from Gary Strudlers travel to Northern Uganda

While visiting Pastor Moses in the refugee camp Bramuel and I had the privilege of doing a Bible Story for 150+ children who do not attend school because of overcrowding.  The residents are doing what they can to assist these children in furthering their education. If the children are not in some sort of school they walk aimlessly or play in the common area.  During this StoryClub we did the story of Jesus calming the storm with the children standing in a huge circle. They loved and were engaged in the story! We even did a retell with a version of duck –  duck – goose!

For Bramuel and myself, we a wonderful time working face to face with Moses instead of being across the country.  We came alongside him in furthering the training he has already done and cast a vision to reach and disciple more children in the settlement.  We were able to bring joy and encouragement as everyone makes a new life for themselves. We Continue to lift up Pastor Moses and his church in the camp that they may continue to be Christ’s shining lights amidst the challenges and adversities everyone faces.  Moses and his leaders have a new vision of expanding the StoryClubs out to their homes. To disciple the children in small groups along with ministering to the groups who come to the church. They have embraced what it means to create environments where more children encounter the love of Jesus.

For Bramuel and myself, we had precious face-to-face time with Moses and not just short texts over the internet.  We came alongside him in furthering the training he has already done and cast a vision to reach and disciple more children in the settlement.   We were able to bring joy and encouragement as everyone makes a new life for themselves.
