Playground team members, Ric & Carla from Pennsylvania had tears in their eyes at the playground dedication. “Today is the first time we have seen our sponsored child smile. We come with our church every two years so we can visit with her. Today as she ran to the playground, she stopped, turned toward us and smiled the biggest smile!” Playgrounds remove those barriers of insecurities and unhappiness, it allows a child to just be a kid! Ric & Carla helped build the playground but never expected their hard work to be rewarded with a beautiful smile. Many women with children in the school also helped build the playground. It was not unusual to see a mom, or grandmother, digging a hole, or steadying a post, with a child wrapped to their backs. Playgrounds have a way of building relationships that last a lifetime!
