Kids Around the World partnered with Heartland Community Church to build a beautiful new playground at the new Cherry Valley Elementary School.

It was a joy serving with the team of faithful volunteers who came together to benefit the Rockford Community. The team had a rough few days with a rain shower the first night that resulted in the playground flooding. The site was covered in mud but this did not deter the volunteers from rolling their sleeves up and putting on their galoshes to finish the build. The team took turns digging rivers to divert the water while others unloaded buckets of water from the previously dug holes. Despite the wet conditions, Youth Build students were willing and eager to jump in and lend a hand! The playground is now ready and awaiting the children to start their school year.
