While traveling in Egypt Global KIDStory Director, Gary Strudler, went to Mokattam Mountain and Saint Saaman Church. It is an incredible place and quite a story behind it. To get to it you have to travel through the city dump where thousands of people live and you see children playing on top of garbage heaps.  So many thoughts and feelings, but especially the heartache that people are living in this environment.  There is the sense of violation in trespassing through their home to go to see this incredible church built into the hillside.

He moved on to Beirut to conduct a KIDStory workshop in Lebanon.  Some of the participants serve in the refugee settlements, some in their local churches.  Some have outreach programs where they use drama and the arts to share the Gospel.  One man shared that although he does not work with children (his wife received the invitation), the Lord specifically spoke to him that he needed to be here over another conference happening this weekend that would be more applicable to him.  I can’t wait to see what happens in each of our lives as we continue to create environments where we connect children (of all ages!) with Jesus and His Story!

Children are a gift from the Lord;
    they are a reward from Him.
Children born to a young man
    are like arrows in a warrior’s hands.
How joyful is the man whose quiver is full of them!
    He will not be put to shame when he confronts
his accusers at the city gates.
Psalm 127:3-5
