Faculty and Staff Service Day

The faculty and staff from Santa Margarita H.S. gathered together for their annual service day incorporating a meal packing event in this tear. Caitlan Rangel, assistant director of campus ministry, reminded the staff that the goal for the day was to come together as a community dedicated to answering Jesus’ call to love one another. With that in mind, the morning began with a beautiful Mass officiated by Fr. Mark Cruz, followed by a delicious breakfast in the lunch shelter served by the SMCHS administrative board. Faculty and staff then descended upon the Moiso Pavilion where they packaged meals, assembly line style, to be shipped to starving children across the globe.

Caitlan Rangel was pleased to report that in about 90 minutes, the faculty and staff made meals that will feed 242 children for an entire school year. Principal Dunne conveyed his appreciation to all staff, “Today’s project truly was a work of love and in turn, was a very visible example of living our school charism!“
