Capistrano Valley Christian School shared a wonderful highlight on the school’s website about the annual elementary school outreach with Kids Around the World.

“CVCS elementary school held its fourth annual meal packing event on Thursday, December 19 with Kids Around the World (KATW). These meals are shipped all over the world to groups serving in ongoing efforts to impact the food insecurity crisis. This partnership between CVCS and KATW specifically ensures that children in these areas have access to the most nutritious food possible, allowing them to grow and thrive just like the students participating in this event.

“What I love about this event is that the kids get to give back to other kids. They are challenged to think of the needs of others across the world. It also is such a fun event that brings our school community together,” said CVCS Parent Volunteer, Megan Miller.

Over 160 CVCS elementary students worked together to pack 15,000 meals, and have packed about 75,000 meals over the past four years.

Marnie Day, the elementary school principal said, “The timing of this project is perfect. As the world focuses on materialism, our students are able to focus on the real reason we celebrate Christmas, which is the birth of Jesus. Jesus loves and cares for us, and this project gives our students an opportunity to do that for students across the world.””
