So far in 2022, with the help of generous partners and thousands of volunteers, we have packed 8.7 MILLION meals!  Each meal packed is strategically engineered to provide nutrient-rich nourishment for children who need it most. These meals have made their way to 12 countries around the world where hunger relief is desperately needed.

Here is a snapshot of the incredible impact the meals packed are having around the world.

Uganda

19.7% of people live below the poverty line
29% of children under 5 are stunted by food insecurity

The rapidly growing country hosts more refugees than any other country in Africa. At the start of 2022, Uganda recorded hosting 1.5 million refugees; since then 100,000 more have entered the country, a majority coming from the neighboring country of South Sudan. 58% of the displaced refugees in Ugandan camps are children, the majority of which are unaccompanied by parents. The combined factors of extreme weather, conflict, including the war in Ukraine, and poverty all play a hand in the dire food insecurity crisis.

Through the support of churches, businesses and schools partnering with us by funding and packing meals, we have sent nearly 1/2 a million meals to Uganda this year; focusing on delivering hope in and around the 2nd largest refugee camp in the world, Bidi Bidi. Thousands of children are regularly receiving nutritious meals, and there are thousands more who need our help.

Ecuador

40% of the rural population lives below the poverty line
24% of children under the age of 5 are stunted

Ecuador has also experienced an influx of displaced refugees entering the country. A mass migration of Venezuelans due to that country’s conflict has greatly increased Ecuador’s population and threatened the stability of the overwhelmed regions. Ecuador has an incredibly diverse landscape, with 22% dedicated to agriculture. However, 24% of children under five years old suffer from malnutrition. Families in vulnerable areas suffer the most and struggle to meet their basic food and nutrition needs.

Continuing to launch in new communities of coastal Ecuador, the impact of Generation Hope is multiplying, reaching thousands of children with sustaining nutrition.  Nearly 1.1 million meals have been shipped to Ecuador so far this year! We are receiving reports about children regularly eating OneMeal, and the results are incredible:  Illnesses have been healed, diagnoses have been reversed, and children have the energy to play and learn!

Philippines

64% of the population is chronically suffering from food insecurity
The Philippines ranks ninth in the world for stunting among children

Natural disasters, overpopulation, conflict, and now rising food prices are all leading causes of the poverty levels in the Philippines. The covid restrictions and lockdowns added to the growing poverty crisis, having a devasting impact on households, especially those living in rural communities. Hunger is one of the extreme effects of poverty in the Philippines. In the midst of the pandemic, it was found that 4.2 million families were struggling with extreme hunger.

This December we have a full shipping container of meals leaving from our Ohio warehouse, ready to make a difference for children in need. With the help of our KIDStory Regional Directors and incredible partners, we are reaching children and communities with spiritual and physical nourishment. Throughout the shutdown and economic crisis, they have been a critical resource, distributing meals to communities and reaching children and families with the magnificent love of God! They are our boots on the ground, providing hope where it is needed most.

Our Food Program is forecasted to ship 3 MILLION more meals from now until the end of the year! We look forward to the hope delivered in the form of nutritious food to children all over the world.

Will you join us in praying over our team, the transportation of these meals, and the impact on those receiving them?
