*Coronavirus Update 3/20/2020:*
Dear Current/Potential Impact Team Volunteers,
I wanted to take a brief moment to talk about the conversation around every dinner table…the Coronavirus began taking the world by storm first via news outlets and social media and now seems to occupy most conversations. This is now our globally reality, as virtually every country in the world has or is in the process of closing their borders. This is no small deal and we have sought to respond in an appropriately and timely manner.
The Coronavirus has and will continue to have a significant effect on our ministry. We have taken the steps to postpone all Impact Teams scheduled from now through May 31, 2020. All volunteers on these teams, departing before May 31, should have received communication specific to them earlier this week. Impact Teams scheduled after May 31 will be evaluated as the situation unfolds.
Humankind has a real need, and it’s not to beat the Coronavirus (though we can all agree we’re looking forward to the day that is true). Humankind’s REAL need is Jesus. The REAL need is salvation. While we have been temporarily limited from traveling abroad to expand this effort, let’s not neglect coming alongside of those close by who have fears, pointing them to the true source of freedom from fear. As Paul reminded Timothy, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” (2 Tim 1:7)
Do not forget that while this element of our work had been reduced, around the globe children are still meeting in regular Story Clubs to hear and be transformed as their life story comes in contact with the story that God has been telling since the moment of creation.
Please join us in prayer. Prayer for these children. Pray for those that are and will be inflicted with this virus. Pray for those leading the way to combat the outbreak. Pray for those that are living in fear. Most importantly, pray that God will be glorified in all of these things.

Trip Overview
The Door Church will be joining Kids Around the World in bringing KidStory to the community of Chamanga, Ecuador. Chamanga is a fishing village of 6,000 located on the Pacific coast in Northwest Ecuador. This community is still picking up the pieces from a major earthquake in 2016 and is already being engaged by the local church. Our team will be resourcing and encouraging local believers.
Local Partner Info
Pastors Nacho and Vilma are precious servants who lost their home, business, and most of their possessions in the 7.8 earthquake of 2016. They remained in their devastated fishing village, Chamanga, and continued to minister to the community. Now, we, have the opportunity to labor with them!
Meet the Team Leader
Steve Nine has served with Kids Around the World facilitating KIDStory trainings across Latin America since 2015. He has a passion to inspire, encourage, and release thousands of laborers into the field of children’s ministry. Connecting communities, through acts of service, and a message of hope, Steve loves leading impact teams. Steve and his wife, Jacky, met and married in Ecuador over 20 years ago. They live and serve there, together with their three children, Stephen, Stephany, and Christie.
